Family: Wife – Laura, Kids – Samantha, Meghan, and Shawna. My biggest fan is my Dad, who passed away last February, but rides with me in every race.
Awards won: Feature wins and heat races with JIRA, 2004 Feature winner of Latchkey Cup, finished 4th place in points twice at Monadnock Speedway Enduro division, 4th in points at Monadnock Speedway ministock division.
How long have you been racing?: 11 years
Do you race anything other than ice?: Monadnock Speedway weekly racing series – open shows, Lee USA Speedway, Twinstate Speedway and Allstar Speedway.
Any funny stories about you and your car?: I have now managed to dent every panel on the car with a recent rollover. I suffered an extreme white wash while on my roof, but managed to get back in line with 3 laps left and finish 2nd on 3 cylinders. Looks like its back to the frame machine at Cliff’s Autobody for a little TLC. After I wiped the snow off the picture of my Dad on my dash I asked him if he enjoyed the ride. His answer to this from the heavens was, ” Son, you really do have a screw loose.”
Anything else you want people to know?: Shawna will be taking my spot at Monadnock Speeday this year in the ministock division. She has been racing since age 12 in a Chevy Cavalier and I look forward to seeing her excel as she did at Twinstate speedway for the last 3 years. She had a banner year with 4 wins and 14 top 3 finishes out of 17 races. She was featured in Speedway Illustrated’s Hometown Hero this past year and strives to put that Cavalier out front every week. We both have the same values when it comes to racing: race hard, try your hardest and never give up until the checkered flag waves.
